Assembly Contracts Limited (ACL) is working to make this website www.acl.co.uk, as accessible as possible, here are some examples of how we have worked on this.

Accessibility testing

This website was last fully tested on 21st Nov 2023. This was an internal test using Chrome Lighthouse and the Wave Evaluation tool as guides.

Website Structure

The markup language used to build the website (php and html) is correctly structured.

CSS (style sheets) control the layout and look and feel of the website. If style sheets are not supported or are turned off, information on the site can still be accessed and read.

The website is fully responsive meaning it is designed to be viewed on a wide range of screen resolutions from phones to large monitors.

All images have been given descriptive alternative text tags.

We have used text and background colour combinations that have a high enough contrast to be read without difficulty, compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA, and in most cases AAA.

The page structure is easy to navigate by using a clear menu that is always visible.

A sitemap is available to provide links to all pages on the website. The link to the sitemap can be found in the footer.

The text is too small for me to read - How can I change it?

You can also usually use the keyboard to increase or decrease text size quickly: Ctrl key and the + (plus) key to increase text on Windows PC. Cmd key and the + (plus) key to increase text on a Mac. Ctrl key and the - (minus) key to decrease text on Windows PC.
